Osseo Area Learning Center kicks off the year - 2017!
The OALC Let's Rap Mentoring program this year is collaborating with Cities United for the Sound Off Stations. This year, we had a special guest join us for the kick-off. This was the honorable Mayor of Brooklyn Park - Mayor Jeff Lunde. The Mayor pledged his support and that of the city of Brooklyn Park, to help create programming that would help ensure the following goals:

Help all youth graduate from high school

Help all youth that are out of school become employed
-
That all youth remain safe from violence/crime and have a second chance

Basic life skills

Avoiding the School to Prison Pipeline

Surviving encounters with the Police

Understanding Purpose

Image is everything - Learning to tie a tie
